Survey says...

Amy and I went the doctor yesterday, and Amy had an ultrasound. As we suspected from her hormone levels, the results show that Amy is not just pregnant, but REALLY pregnant. With twins.

You might think that our reaction would be shock, surprise, astohishment… But while we’re extremely excited by the prospect of having two kids, our initial reaction was relief. Both of us have been dreading the possibility of triplets. I know, I know. I’m sure those parents who have triplets are wonderfully happy, loving parents. And I’m sure we would have been too. But in all honesty, it was a test neither one of us wanted to undergo.

So now we’re planning for a family of four (+ canine) instead of three. That larger bathroom is definitely going to come in handy now, and we may even have to brainstorm the right way to do another half bathroom sooner than we thought. And, we’re going to have to start thinking through a revision in our fleet of autos. My CRX is a fantastic car, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be the right fit after December 16 (or thereabouts).

In the meantime, you can help out. Please make your check payable to…just kidding. What I meant to say was, we need four names (two boy and two girl). So use the comment section below to put your bid in. There is no limit to the number of names you can suggest, and they will all be taken extremely seriously (;)). Be sure to tell all your friends to enter. The deadline is, well, whenever we have to decide on names. And the Grand Prize in this contest? A weekend vacation in Boston babysitting two fantastic little newborn tykes, sometime after December. So send those names in early and often!

Bonnie and Clyde (assuming a boy and girl)
Bevis and Butthead
Cheech and Chong (although I admit that Chong is a last name!

I guess I had better quit -- I am obviously headed in the wrong direction!!

Wow, John, those are great names! How'd you come up with those? We definitely consider them, especially the third set. What would you think about, say, Bevis and Chong? Cheech and Butthead?
