We got a new cat yesterday. Also included are some recent walking-around photos.

Sarah and I enjoyed seeing the pictures of Naboo. We've looked a couple of times. He is certainly black. Is he neutered yet? Otherwise you may be the proud grandparents of many little kittens that one of your neighbors did not intend to have their cat produce!! Ha! Ha! What happens when Lola and Naboo are together? Can you distinguish them with all that black fur?

Oh, don't you worry. He's fixed. He came from the pound, and his previous owners had already fixed him. But even if they hadn't, we would have. All of our animals get fixed as soon as they're old enough.

Lola and Naboo are actually different shades of black. Lola has reddish-brown highlights, and Naboo is just jet black (not counting his stray white hairs). Naboo is much, much harder to see in the dark. Lola tends to reflect a little bit of whatever light there is, but Naboo just disappears.

He's also very, very quiet. He almost never meows is a very stealthy mover. The other day we discovered that he had been walking around on the kitchen counters for about 10 minutes without either of us noticing.
